We couldn’t help but notice your post about “fan management” and wanted to say thank you for recognizing the importance of having this type of service in your corner. My company is actually called FanManager and that is exactly what we do! We work with many artists big and small such as Depeche Mode, Shakira, The Crystal Method, Infected Mushroom, The Wailers, and many others.

Thanks for stopping in! Its funny, me being a Musician and like most other Musicians, my time was spent creating the Art and being in a different mindset, not so much focused on the business side. But once you learn all the things that can be done to make money as an artist, there is a lot of opportunity.

I also hope we can all connect in a way that does strengthen our humanity, in some ways the internet can appear impersonal, but in many ways we can connect with people whom we would not otherwise be able to. I guess its up to us and what we make out of it.

Hi Scott,
Of course not, it will always have its place. Were talking about selling directly to the fans, list building, and being able to follow up with those who buy your music. A business, where you can predict how much money your going to make next month.
Its nothing new, just new to most Musicians. Those who are making money online in all other markets (especially IM) have been doing it for a long time. Whats funny is Musicians have been “list building” , since the beginning of the internet, just not working it the way they could.

Very exciting times you’ve laid out for us. Very good. I saw Avatar last night and I was blown away. If things keep progressing like movies, and the internet has already proven to do this in its short life span, then the possibilities are really endless.
